How do u take a screenshot of ur puter

I've visited many webpages that have screenshots of programs, in this case, Scotter has a page that has a picture of his Benchmarking results. What do I do to take a screenshot of a program??

To capture an active window you press the PrintScreen+ALt keys. To capture the entire contents of the monitor you just hit the printscreen key.

I tried pressing "PrintScreen" + Alt Key @ same time, it didn't work, neither did just pressing "PrintScreen"

Do I have a bad keyboard, if so Im buyin one in 1 hour! I'm pickin up my sound card, so might as well get a keyboard too.

ya gotta paste it into paint or some other program. Hit print screen+alt then open paint and select edit then paste.

I dont have to use alt, just print screen, I can then use paint and pres cont + V to paste

then open MSPaint or any paint program and select "paste". save the screenshot as JPEG/GIF, upload to your webserver/site, then link to it in your text.

The Print Screen key along copies the entire screen

The Alt-Printscreen combinations, copies the active window only.

I read an article on zdnet that people press all type of weird combinations just to get the screenshot!
its only the printscreen key!~)

haha,,, I remember I used to press
first ctrl-alt-P.S.
ctrl-shift-alt-P.s.
every time, just in case one or the other did the trick!

That same artical on zdtv is the one that tell you to capture an ACTIVE WINDOW to press PS+ALT! I will go and find it.
