mac monitor on a pc

I have an AppleVision 17" CRT monitor. It's a mac monitor with the traditional mac 3 row, 15 pin allignment. I was planning on building a new Athlon system this summer and would like to use this monitor for it. (If I can save $500 I'm all for it!) I know I can get an adapter for the display to fit on pc motherboards, but is there anything else that I should know about this operation? (i.e. drivers, software)

I bought a simple adapter that goes on the cord....fired it up and adjusted the monitor settings alittle, worked PERFECT...AND saved $$$ no other hassles...
