I just put together a new sys. Win98 Trinity 400 MB with a voodoo 3 2000.... A few days ago the icons on my desktop and in control panel turned to black and white. I tried reinstalling the drivers but still the same...Anyone have any suggestions what it might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have LOTS of icon visible? Are you in 32-bit color? Is Windows low on resources? How much memory in the machine?

I don't have a lot of icons on the DT - about a dozen or so. I had it in 32 bit and reduced it to 16 bit but still no go. even removed the voodoo driver. Fresh install of w98se with 96 mb pc-100 ram and 20 gig hd so I don't think it's a resource prob.

Please do not multiple post - it makes troubleshooting your problem virtually impossible with more than one thread, and it's confusing and frustrating for those trying to help.

Thanks!

Sorry about the multiple posts (2) but I was not sure which group was the most appropriate at the time. I guess my desire to have my problem resolved quickly caused me to abandon good jusgement. I don't think this is the most appropriate group but you have already deleted my other thread. Which group would be most appropriate for finding a resolution to my problem?

Thanks,

NP, and thanks, #snipe# http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Actually, this thread is more appropriate for the Tech Support forum, so it's moved to here...

Just choose the most appropriate forum for your topic - if it's a problem and not sure where to put it, Technical Support is best. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
