I was reading about internet security the other day, and I found this:

http://www.freedom.net/

For a one time fee of $49.95 US, they sell you a neat little piece of software. They have several servers spread throughout North America, and offer a very unusual service. After you establish you connect to your ISP, then the software redirects all incoming and outgoing packets to Freedom's servers using complete encryption. Also, they act as a anonymizing proxy, and allows for filtering of all personal information. I haven't tried the shareware version yet, but I'm really looking into this.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, as I run two firewalls and have editied most of my Windows networking layer. As most know, I use ZoneAlarm, since it offers many nice features, plus the new beta version has loging. I recently picked up a copy of Conseals's PC Firewall (full firewall, not the newer Private Desktop software). I would highly recommend it, as it offer many nice features. For me it catches 95% of everthing, then ZA offers another layer of protection behind it, caching the other few invasions that Conseal might miss.

Also, for those interested in free anonymous proxy servers, here's a cool site:

I was a beta tester for that program, and the idea is really good, however, I found that even after the release version, the lag on connections was almost unbearable.I finally deleted it. Maybe they have sped it up a bit by now..please let us know
