Well, this is my 1001st post.

This (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/002866.html) was the first post I made on SysOpt. I had been reading about the 300A and needed to know mOre! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif I was just going to post and leave, but the bug bit!

My 501st post (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003629.html)

I hope to stick around for a good while longer. You're all cool!! Thanks for all the help and stuff you've given me! Thanks to RichAmies for hooking me up with a place to get a k6-2 450. Thanks y'all

See ya soon - taking a short break - I'll be here (http://www.v2.nl/joostcgi/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro) for a while. Not leaving sysopt, though! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

ps Congrats to Robrich on his 1000th post.
pps My 501st post was the first one I've had ever edited by socalgal http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks for the congrats, and I'll send it back to you http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. I sort of just let mine slide over, wondering if anyone here would actually notice. At any rate, thanks to everyone at Sysopt and all the forum members for making this happen. Hopefully we'll be around for several more 1000's of posts.

Alpha, Congrats! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif - You're a grand-daddy now, so don't forget your cane when you go out dancing hehe! Seriously, you've been a alot help to others with your information and experience; for a person of your age, I believe you have a great future ahead of you! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

RobRich: Congrats! You are truly deserving of the status, IMHO. I never cease to be amazed at the amount of knowledge you present to us all, in most any forum. You're truly an asset to our community. Hope you stick around for another 1000 (at least), also. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Bonehead, when the Status rolls over, it rolls over on any and all dates. My title will say Moderator on my very first posts! (Obviously, I wasn't back then) http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

BTW, for everyone's info, I generally won't offer a public Congrats unless the Member brings it up him/herself. Some don't like the 'spotlight'. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Oh, another thing. I don't ban anyone - Scott does. He runs this site. I can and do, however, make recommendations.

...in this case a well deserved honor!

Do you need 500 posts to get to Senior and do you need 1000 posts to get to Ultimate? Just wondering.

How bout creating a separate class of member. Like Xtreme member or Classic member or something. Give it only to those like daveleau and mntsnow (and others!) who bring special qualities and leadership to Sysopt? Just an idea...

RobRich

I like how you put that Alpha, we're all equal here at Sysopt. The member ranking system is just a way to classify who are the more regular posting members of the group. It is not a class seperation factor, and shouldn't be held as such. I see juniors helping out even some of oldest members here. As long as respect and acknowledgement is maintained on an unilateral level, then the forums can prosper and the members receive the most benifit.

Congrads Alpha and RobRich..Both very deserving members here at Sysopt's. In just a short time, we've had many great guys acheive the " Ultimate Member" status. But I think that all the folks here are the " Ultimate"
For my bro ,Alpha, may I say, on the eve of one of my favorite days of the year ...Erin go bragh !!!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

So THAT'S how it works!! I wondered how you got the different rating?!?
Hi all. I dropped in a few nights ago to find a solution for a minor problem and ended up going through different areas reading. I like what I see here, no one talks down to anyone. I plan on making this a daily stop, not only to get help and offer any help I may have knowledge in, but also to keep my skills in troubleshooting high. As the saying goes, use it or lose it!
I'm going to like it here!!
OH!!!! Congrats alpha!!!

Alpha, You make me PROUD with your response to Wyvrn's posting.
we're all equal on SysOpt, regardless of member stat

As this truely is how I feel about SysOpt and I'm sure it will be echo'd by the other "members" here.

Mntsnow
ps. Thanks for the "kudo's" Wyvrn as thats the reason I spend much of my free time here. I love to hear and see others helping others!

The Classic member idea would break up SysOpt by members being rejected for the status and feeling hard done by, creating grudges, when the person might feel that they have made a special contribution and I'd hate to see that happen - we're all equal on SysOpt, regardless of member stat.

V2_OS is an Open Source operating system, currently at version 0.54b and it's nifty and a 24.7k download. Try it today! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks everybody!!
