Just bought a 17" monitor - did I get ripped off?

Viewsonic A70 17" for $259+tax with $40 rebate. I can't find it in CNET and pricewatch doesn't even list an A70. Can someone let me know what the going price should be?

I was considering the NEC Multisync FE700 17" for $299 but that had no rebates or anything on it...

So please let me know!

I give no weights to rebates in any of my buying decisions. 9 out of 10 times I never get anything back.

Using rebates as a basis for your buying decision is a no no.

For $350US, I can get myself a KDS 19" monitor, which I indeed do have one, bought it over @ Costco.

Well, that's just my 2 cents.

I never do have any luck with rebates.
Its either I'm very unlucky or that its bad business practices by many companies...

Ive gotten every single one back so far thast been out for over a month..maybe Im just lucky.
The best prices for 17"s are about 200 bucks...Viewsonic, being one of the best, goes for a bit more. Id say you payed a real good price for a 17" monitor. I dont know anything about the A70 tho, but Viewsonic is a very reputable company.

I've had a Viewsonic A70 for a few months and I've had NO problems with it at all.
It's crisp and clear and colors are right on.
In Canada, it goes for $399.00 plus 14 % for the mighty taxes.
You did good!!
