Since S3 and Nvidia are going into a patent share agreement, does that mean that S3TC will be available on all Nvidia products? Because I know that Nvidia has one driver that runs all their cards from GeForce down to TNT and lower. If S3TC is available on any of them, will it be available on all?

My bet would be that they only make it available for the GeForce. That way we have just one more reason to upgrade.

My last info is that the driver is to be a GF256 driver, but with a little luck, and maybe a few "hacks" in the code or setup, they will run on a TNT-x card. It shouldn't be that hard since all their cards use the same driver interface layer, from GDI to d3d to ogl. It might take a little effort, but I beleive that it should be to be done. I guess will just have to wait for them, and hope for the best.
