My 500mhz Athlon System Crashes when I install my new ASUS Geforce 6600.
I crashes very often in heavey 3D games.
And often i get a VCACHE Error on
"the the blue face of Death"

Yeah I think I remember reading something about it on Tom's Hardware Guide. And you need not worry about a possible performance hit when going to AGP 1x instead because there's very little difference between the two settings (1x and 2x) in today's games.

I believe that this is a known problem. I think you can set your AGP speed to 1x, and this will clear up some of the problems.

Check AMD's web site. I think they have a driver fix for your problem that will automatically set the agp to 1X. It has something to do with the AMD 750 MoBo chip set. Good Luck.

Yes, and download also the newest drivers from the net if you haven't already, I heard they're much more stable.

Download and install the nVidia 3.77 driver set. When an AMD Athlon chipset is detected upon install of these, it should defualt the AGP to 1x with no sideband support. It sounds worse than it really is, because the performance loss is usually under 2-3%. Here's a link:
