How can you tell?

How can you tell if the memory you bought is PC100 or only PC66 just by looking at it?
Is it possible?

Certified PC100 SDRAM has a label PC100 ###-###. There's another thread here that should help.

Post the numbers on an individual chip and we'll try to look 'em up.

I'm a novice at memory id's but wouldn't it also have a "-7" or "-8" tagged on the product code? Doesn't this signify it's speed as well?

Different manufacturers use different codes. You can't count on them to mean what you think.
