I've got and ELSA Geforce and have heard from different people that the Geforce chip is very power hungry and has a tendency to blow 250W power supplies. Any body have any experience with this? I was also wondering if a too small power supply would have an effect on O/C.

A good power supply is recommended, but what commonly can't supply enought power is the motherboard's voltage regulator. This is usually only an issue with older boards, but a few new one's uffer problem, too. The EPOX MVP3G2 is just one example, though some people have got this config to work. Any good power supply 230watts and up should work, but I reccomend a at least a 250 for Intel or Super7 setups, and a 300 for Athlon's.

I've also heard reports that Gigabyte boards can't handle GeForce. I think that some Voodoo5 boards have consume 50-60 watts of power, but they have an extra power connector. I'm only saying what the magazine said - I don't know if the thing uses one of those power bricks, or maybe an internal drive power adapter. Be nice if GeForce cards would have a similar adapter - they'd probably get a lot more happy customers.
