wow seti, that's very nice! you've really captured an Arctic feel (Alaska or Norway?) with that lighting.

I'd love to know how you got the snow effect, and if you have found any way of populating the scene with trees etc?

Anyone remember a program called Vista on the Amiga - it took around four hours to render a medium-res 4096 colour landscape... ahh those were the days...

PS If you can see banding in your original .bmp, I found that reducing the colours to 256 w/ error diffusion in PSP gets rid of it without ruining the image too much http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

East coast Greenland actully...Though it's alot more rocky there. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I've never been to Alaska or Norway.

Terrgen actully has a snow effect built in. Um....ha, I can't think off hand how to get to that menu, just a sec. Ok...in the landscape window, there's a surface map area...click open, and there ya go. I also lasso'd the snowy area's and used the texturizer filter in PS, faded to about 45%. It looked nice at hi resoulution, but when I took the image size down to get ride of a bit of the blockyness it didn't show up. As for tree's, I don't think so. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Good tip with the banding...I've been useing the blur toor so far.

Adding Images
To add a graphic within your message, just encase the URL of the graphic image as shown in the following example (UBB Code is in red).

(take the spaces out between IMG)

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically makes the graphic visible in your message. Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the [img] code. Also note: some UBB forums may disable the [img] tag support to prevent objectionable images from being viewed.
