I have a retail Diamond Stealth III S540
32 Meg AGP card on a DFI SS7 M/B, K6-2 450@500 system w/128MB ram. Although D3D is OK, this combo seems to perform very poorly on all benchmarks I have run, in fact if I replace the card with an Elsa Banshee AGP card, the Benchmarks (even 2D) are 5-10% higher. Is this a bad card to mix with K6's or just a bad card?

Benchmarks aren't important. What is important is "Do you like the card?" A million frames per second is unimportant if you don't like the picture quality.

I recently sent back a Stealth S540. It completely screwed up my system... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif. Random lockups/crashes...especially when on the web. System is a Gigabyte Ga-5AA Mobo,Diamond sonic impact card,Diamond Supra Pro modem with a K6-2 350(@400). Did have time to benchmark it with 3D Mark 99, came in around 2300. So performance and epecially quality was ok but whats the use when its soooo unstable... Phoned techiy blokes to try and sort problem and they told me that S540 have probs with K6 processors??? (sounds like bull but back it went).
Be warned.
3d is quite reasonable
