well I was online on my cheapo 56k connection checking my jd waterhouse, and suretrade online account and sure enough my mouse just starts going haywire. it goes left and right, up and down and then stops. then I try to scroll down to my screen and it automatically scrolls up. this happened a couple of times. and the scary part is that norton antivirus pops up now and tells me my master boot record has been changed uh oh. I have blackice but forgot to enable it this time. shut down and booted and everything seems fine. any ideas what just happened to me. I won't really worry about this since my ip changes every time I log in. but i sure hope nobody was monitoring what I was typing for my login and passwords to my waterhouse and suretrade account. geez now i'm really paranoid since pacbell will be out here in a couple of day to install my dsl, though that is also a dynamic ip. thx

Sounds like you might have a trojan in your machine.... back oriface netbus or Sub 7.

All of these programs allow someone to see what you type. Or even take over remote access of the machine while it is connected to the net.

Here might be some helpful links for you.
http://surf.to/netbuster Info on removing netbus on your pc.
http://users.pandora.be/t-mp3/bo/detect.html this is the best site I have found in regards to removing back oriface. Gives screen shots of going through the registry.

Sheesh, I cant find the article on sub 7 "SHEESH" knew I should have written down the URL but is is burried some where at http://www.symantec.com/

The nastiest of the three is sub 7 beacuse of the configuration utility that comes with it. So simple even an "ADULT" can use it on a pc.

Good Luck

Bigslammer I have a program called "secure memory beta,it is like hitting cntrl alt delete, except on crack,it will show you everything running in your memory, and allow you to remove it,and it finds trojans too I will email it to you

it will show you stuff that cntrl alt delete never will......also I have a I extra user lisence for a good trojan scanner called "lockdown 2000" it will find most any trojan..........I have found norton to be a bloated piece of poop, antivirultoolkit pro is one of the best there is and only takes up
3-4 megs to DL........all the hackers use it,it has detected stuff that norton never has,at least when I did some tests with it

If you have a trojan anyone with a good portscanner can detect said trojan and screw with you

just mail me back if you need some help with good protection.......I know of alot of sweet
tricks and proggies to use.....cause I was hacked several times by some joke

lockdown found like 14 trojans in my box, where norton found a big whopping zero

a format is your best protection, and also a call to your ameritrade to change your pass word
