My Gateway G-233 system (bought in April 1998)
came with a STB 4mb card.
That card is very strange because it does not have 1 driver but somehow 2! One is the STB (I believe it is an nvidia but ..)which operates in the background and the other is from MPact! .When I look into the Display option the console is from MPact, unlike other cards (ie Matrox would have a Matrox console)
So the problem is:
1) The bios on it is NOT Upgradable, which I think is cheap beeing from 1998 and STB
2) There is no Win 98 driver and there has not been any other driver posting since 1997!?!?!?!
I do not feel that card is really what it should be. no drivers, non flach bios, no STB driver. Did Gateway put a bulk card in my system?
