When playing some games(Quake2) I get a shutter in the image when i turn and strafe and the same time. What's up? My friend has a voodoo 3 2000 and doesn't get these shutters.
System:
Voodoo3 3000
p3 450
64mb ram
game runs of hard drive not cd.
When playing Quake2 in software mode shuttering goes away. i already have the latest drivers. Should i get it replaced on warrenty?

Have you tried flushing the card out of Windows and reinstalling the drivers fresh? If not, try it. Here's how I do it. (do this at your own risk) =)
Run Regedit. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display . Delete all of the subdirectories contained in that key.
Open Explorer. Go to Windows\Inf and delete the file VOODOO3.inf. Now look in Windows\Inf\OTHER and delete the file 3dfxVoodoo3.inf .
Now go into device manager and change the Display Adapter to Standard VGA. Reboot your computer.
Now install the Voodoo3 drivers again and reboot. After this everything should be fine. Good luck.
Let me know if you need a more detailed explination. I did this, and got a pretty good speed increase. I didn't have stutters, but it seemed to install the card optimally.

have u solved this problem ??? I was having a similar prob with the voodoo 3 and found i was running stuff in the background (some colorific program that came with my hitachi monitor) that was for some reason interfering with the game or something but I shut everythig down except explorer and systray and works fine now
