anyone know why the screen will faintly flicker on the sides? when i hit the degauss it seems to calm it down a bit.

Do you live near any high power xmission lines,cell phone towers,or have your monitor close to a microwave?If so,the EMI may be affecting your monitor.Or,your tube may be going bad.....Just guessing.

check the connectors in the back, make sure that none of them are bent.
