Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my video card to either a TNT based card or, a Voodoo 3 series. I would like to know if games that claim to be 3DFX only will run on a TNT based card or, do they have to be true 3DFX and have a Voodoo chipset?

Help much appreciated.

thx

I'd go with the voodoo3 3000 video card because it is faster than the tnt2 yet far cheaper than the tnt2 ultra card. And about that 16 bit color vs 32bit color AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Tell me the truth can anyone even see/tell the difference... NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
GET THE VOODOO 3 3000!!!!!!!!!

Beg to differ. The TNT based cards are an excellent choice. Example....The Velocity 4400 16 meg TNT runs for about $45 dollars, and when used with the Detonator 2.08 drivers from Nvidia the card out performs it cost by far. Yes the Viper 770 Ultra is a very expensive card, but with "Glide wrapper" it runs most all games. 3DFX games are a bit tricky. They actually do require the 3DFX processor card. Go with the TNT or TNT2.

A Viper770 16M TNT2 OEM cost less than a hundred dollars and will clock to 150/175 with ease. It's hard to tell any difference between this and a TNT2U, and I have both!
