I want to connect a IBM T55D with AGP connector to a motherboard that supports PCI and doesn't support AGP are there Adapter Cards that I can use to accomplish this?

The best bet may be to upgrade your motherboard. If you really want it that badly at least... There are some very good mobos out there for less than a hundred. Abit, Soyo, FIC...the list goes on.
