Just ran 3D Mark 99 Max on my Voodoo3 3000 and I'd like some opinions on the numbers (are they high, low, avg. etc). System is: AMD K6-2/450 @ 500MHz on SOYO 5EMA+ w/128Mb PC100 & 1Mb L2. 3D Mark doesn't see the L2 (says 0), thinks the Voodoo is PCI (it's AGP) and I cannot find anywhere that I can disable VSYNC. It gives me 2958 3D marks, and 5874 cpu marks. 3D marks seem a little low compared to what I've seen on other benchmarks posted around here (3000+). Could the L2, PCI, and VSYNC discrepancies be holding my 3D scores down? Performance is good and I have no complaints, just curiosity. This is my first video benchmarking and any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well if this is any help I have a 550 PIII, Voodoo 3 3000 and 196 megs of ram and when I run the 3dMark test it shows around 8400 processor score and 5300 on the video card. The test was the same with 128 megs of ram when i ran it before i added the extra 32megs. You might want to try and overclocking the card as well but, remember the Voodoo card gets very hot so may want to run extra fans if you go this route.

Thanks for the input- I haven't updated the drivers on the card in about 6 months (haven't been able to log onto 3DFX's site- guess they're too busy) and I've never updated the ETEQ chipset drivers. I'll give it a whirl & see what blows up! /forum/wink.gif
Thanks again.

I don't think that's low. I have a k6-3 450 and got 3104 and 6934. Have you downloaded the latest drivers from 3dfx? They came out with new ones last week. I'm not sure what chipset is on the SOYO but download the latest drivers from them as well. Also right click on your desktop and choose properties and go to settings and then advanced. Click on 3dfx tweaks and you can mess with some settings there as well.
