Ripped from Tennmax:
"Many users have reported that the best way to remove the OEM heatsink is when the card is cold and the glue is brittle. Place a butter knife or flat screw driver tip in between the sink and the chip, and twist. The sink should pop off the chip at no time. Customers have informed us that this is the easiest way to remove the heatsink."
"The "glue" left on the chipset can be softened with carburetor cleaner* (key ingredients are Toluene, MEK, Xylene). Use a razor to shave the thick glue off the chip. Rub the chip clean with a cloth wetted with carburetor cleaner. Then finish off by wiping the chip with rubbing alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol). This ensures removal of the slow evaporating solvents such as Naphtha, commonly included in the carburetor cleaner."

Hmm..I went to the other way..seems like a flathead can do it but not a butterknife...you think i need new butterknives? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
anyways got that off and now the S7 fan dont wanna stick right on it (**** the upsidedown AGP slot!!!) cuz it came with some massively crappy thermal tape that doesnt like to stick too well..Time to go out to radio shack and pick up a few things...ugh...

AuraEdge,
What kind of bus speeds are u running with the CL card ? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I have a Viper770 32 meg and it will not run above 117 FSB, everything else runs up to 129 real stable till i try to run Quake and then it locks, so i was wondering is the CL card more stable at the higher bus speeds ??
thanks

its running at 133fsb x 2/3 at AGPx2
If it freezes up only during games, instead of worring about FSB's try lowering core/memory clock on the v770.
Anyways i put a lil water on it trying to get the tape stuff off, and it wuldnt come off, but when I wait for it to dry and stuck it back on, it sticks without a hitch tho, and they are in contact cuz the HS is actually a tad hot now. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
