Im looking for a good video card cooler that fits on the Card and doesnt block out a PCI slot. I have a TNT now and my next card will be a NV10 probably. If im spending a 15-20 dollar investment for this cooler, I want it to lastat least 2 generations of video cards. I was looking at the Tennmax TNT Detonator cooler. To not block out a PCI slot, itll probably hafta be no wider than 10mm. Id like to know your recommendations/experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hercules puts an AAVID heat/fan combo on their T2 Ultras. I'm not recommending anything but they think its good enough to cool Dynamite T2U. It's running at 190/220 right now with some additional homemade heat dissipation methods, mentioned in another of your threads. The heatsink itself doesn't seem to have a whole lot of surface area...the Tennmax product is probably as good or better.

Check this out man... go to www.thetechzone.com and click on "card cooler" in the menu bar. i haven't gotten it yet, but i plan to. it doesn't take up any pci slots, and it's not too expensive, anyways just go check it out.

I guess I already voided my warrenty by rippin off the sink for a Socket7 HS/fan that not only takes up a PCI slot, but I think came with some extremely crappy glue cuz the sink doesnt even feel hot.

I got the Detonator cooler and love it. Doesn't take any more room than the oem h/s.

Methinks I shoulda just left the retail sink onit and got a card cooler. Its already off tho =P
I can either put it back on with some of this thremal gunk or get the Detonator cooler.
Hmm

I had a friend supposedly running a Banshee at 135/125, so I had to try it. Using that super7 hs/fan can't be any worse than how I used to o/c my Banshee. I had a 486 fan on the oem heatsink, a super7 hs/fan on the back over the main processor, and 2 486 hs/fan combos cooling the ram chips. Using a mixture of light glue and heatsink compound, it took me forever to get that thing together. It turned out to be all for nothing, my Creative board revision had a cap limit of 120/120. Anything higher would just revert back to factory defaults. Oh well, waiting for the NV10 in the immediate future and the Glaze3d 4800 later in 2000.
