Still lookin',huh!Let's see if I can help.
1)Hitachi-I checked this unit out at CompUSA,no matter what settings I made to it,it just didn't live up to it's reviews.
2)Viewsonic-From what I understand,the "shortneck"was designed for small business desks(cubicles)so it would fit.The image is reflected 90 degress to the screen.This doesn't improve performance.I'd go with a "long neck"version.
3)IIyama-Very good monitor.Great reviews.I would of bought one, but,it was a bit out of my price range.
I bought an ADI-6p.I know the reviews were mixed, but,"Sharky Extreme" websight picked it as the best second tier 19" monitor.
Hope I helped......DawgTuff.

I have ADI 5P+(17") and is very good. Price good too and ADI gives the longest warranty.
Great graphics.

I narrowed down the following 3 monitors based on many reviews. Which one do you recommend ?

1. Hitachi : SUPERSCAN ELITE 751
2. Iiyama : VisionMaster 450
3. ViewSonic : PS790 SHORT DEPTH

Out of the three, I would go with the Iiyama Visionmaster pro 450

dawgtuff - You're mostly ontrack about short-neck
monitors, tho 90' is normal deflection angle...short
necks are wider angle at 100'. Tho most who
own those ViewSonic PS790s seem to love them
& find no distortion. I think what you say is true tho
for some other brand short-necks...
