Probs w/ Diamond Viper V550 and IE 4.0+

I have searched everywhere I could possibly find something about this problem. I can get online and function just fine for about 5 min or so then I get a hard lockup.
I am using a local ISP and have had the same prob w/ IE 4.02 and 5.0. I have seen the problem mentioned but not addressed. I have tried both Diamond drivers on disk and d/l fresh from sight. I have also tried the Nvidia 2.08 detonator driver, and also upgraded my AGP drivers. The mother board is a FIC VA503+

Have you checked for an updated BIOS for the card?
I used the same card in a system and had problems connecting to AOL. Turns out that there are older cards still in the pipeline that require the upgrade.
I upgraded both BIOS and drivers and all was OK!

I u/g the bios last night. I did lock up after the u/g on IE 4.0 but I am writing this in 5.0, so I'll see how long it lasts.
It locked up on the next page I went to.
Netscape seems to OK.
