I belive that here is a update patch for the jewel case portion of that software on adaptec's website. Make sure you have all the current patches installed

I have a problem that I can't seem to solve
I'm running Windows98SE on a PentiumIII 450
system and running Adaptec EZ-CD Creator 4.0
which I love. It runs perfectly except for
the Jewel Case Creator. Which is also okay
unless I try to change the Theme...when I
click Format, then change Theme...she locks
up the whole **** system. I've tried just
about everything I can think of. Any ideas?

After much searching of the Adaptec Support
site...I found it...and it works...Imagine

Solution:

General Protection Fault error messages in the Jewel Case Creator can occur when selecting "Change Theme" or "Change Background" from the Format menu.

In most cases this occurs when you are using an ATI Rage 128 or ATI Rage Fury 128 video card / display adapter. It appears to be a problem with the driver for these specific cards as it is not an issue with other video cards (either ATI or other).

This problem can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration for the ATI video card / display adapter:
