Help me Please!!!!!!
Before I begin, a quick note on my system: I'm presently running 233MMX Pentium with 128 MB Ram

I am replacing my Trident S3 Trio64V+ 64 bit VGA card with the VIPER V550 PCI.

I called Diamond's Tech support because I was getting a message that my device or driver was not loaded correctly. They had me change my BIOS to enable "Assing IRQ for VGA"

However, while my system now recognizes my new video card, my Plug & Play monitor (WETECH is the mfr) does not allow me to increase my settings from 16 colors to either 256, 16 BIT or TrueColor 32 BIT. Mind you, I was able to do this BEFORE I upgraded (?) to the VIPER.

Any ideas? Sometimes, when I choose a different monitor (as I'm not sure which to choose, nor can I seem to locate the driver for my monitor) I get an error message and I reboot in SAFE MODE (?).

Here are my BIOS Settings:
PCI/VGA Palette Snoop: DISABLE
Assign IRQ for VGA: ENABLED
OS Select for DRAM >64 MB: NON-OS2
Video BIOS Shadow: DISABLED
C8000-CBFFF Shadow: DISABLED
CC000-CFFFF Shadow: DISABLED
D0000-D3FFF Shadow: DISABLED
D4000-D7FFF Shadow: DISABLED
D8000-DBFFF Shadow: DISABLED
DC000-DFFFF Shadow: DISABLED

PNP/PCI Configuration
Resources controlled by: AUTO
Reset Config Data: DISABLED
PCI IRQ Activated by: LEVEL
PCI IDE IRQ Map to: PCI-AUTO
Primary IDE INT#: A
Secondary IDE INT#: B

Sorry for the length of this post. I wanted to be as detailed as possible. Hope you can help. I've been at this for three days now!

I agree with MadMax. Boot in safe mode and remove all video adapters. You want the windows default driver. Then when you reboot, Windows will look for the correct card and drivers. I just went thru this with a rage fury 32. Good Luck

Boot to safe mode. Remove all video card and monitor drivers. Reboot and install the correct drivers.
