I want to know what keys to press or what to do to customize the area I'm typing in when I post a topic or reply: insert pics, format text, etc.

This may be a dumb question, but I'd like to know.

when you are writing your message look under the submit and clear fields buttons and you will see red text that will have a link to UBB Code where you can find examples and how to use the code..

right. But since you are obviously on the net, most likely your ISP already has space allotted to you (5 to 50mb depending on provider) on their server.

Yes, and when you plan to link a picture from your server to the BBS please make sure that the picture is as small as possible so it doesn't take forever to load for those of us still using modems.

Save it as a jpeg or gif and compress it as much as possible - you can have really decent images only 25KB in size.

Here is an example of CMonster's metal art, this 30-inch tall dragon bird is made of 3/16" thick steel plate and various other scrap steel. File size is around 31KB
