Are there any 3D cards that will run on a PCI Specification 1.2 bus? Everything I have seen requires 2.1. If not, are there any 3d cards that run on an ISA legacy bus? I have an old Micron 90 MhZ I'd like to drop a 3d card into. Any help or comments would be appreciated. (Buying a new computer is not an option, budget won't afford it presently). Thanks in advance.

You should be able to use a Voodoo1 card, it's pretty much generic.

VooDoo 2 cards are usually not very picky about what they are run in either. They don't bus master, so it is fairly likely that one will work in your machine. From what I have found, PCI 2.1 spec cards 'usually' run in older non-spec boards as long as they are either in a bus mastering PCI slot, or don't absolutely need to bus master. (No bus mastering is a performance hit though.) I say by a midline 2d/3d card but make sure you can return it if it does not work. I bet you will have less trouble than you are expecting.

Voodoo2 doesn't need an IRQ but quite a few of the modern 2D/3D combos do. If you get a 2D/3D combo card, make sure it doesn't need to be assigned an IRQ. Older PCs can't handle that aspect.

Like 800XL said, make sure you can return a card if it doesn't work with your system.
