I'm not really sure where this one would post, so I guess here is as good as any. I'm looking to buy some double sided thermal tape, and I haven't been able to find it at my local computer shop. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some of this stuff??
thanks,
Z

They have some on www.digikey.com (http://www.digikey.com) that are available in a few sizes and can be cut to fit.
It's not super strong -- i.e. there's a 66% chance it won't hold a 486 heatsink and fan on a peripheral card's underside -- I know this cause I tried 3 times and 2 of the 3 resulted in the fan/HS falling. The last is still up and has been for 1 1/2 years now.
There are 3 sizes, do a search for "CPU pad" (with NO quotes, digikey hates 'em) in the search.

I had the very same problem. Most comp. shops here didn't know what I was talking about and told me to use thermal goop to adhere a fan to my chipset (LOL!) (I was trying to cool my VIA chipset). I got a thermal pad from millisec.safeshopper.com (http://millisec.safeshopper.com)

FYI I am pretty sure that almost ALL thermal tape is double sided.
