Just recently, like the last two days, every message appears as a new one, with the yellow light by the forums, and a red folder by all the topics. I can close down IE and come back and they are all still yellow and red. I haven't made any changes that I know of, is it working fine for everyone else?

Bdog...Your "cookie" has gotten corrupted. Go to the "preferences" and tell it to delete the forum cookie and then reset your preferences to install a new cookie http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Mntsnow
No dice. I have went to prefrences three times and deleted my cookies. Then I resubmit my prefrences. Exact same thing happens.

Maybe try turning off IE and deleating the cookie from the cookie folder, Should say:
your name@ cgi-bin[xx].txt

You havent by chance disabled your cookie's funtions for the browser have you? Double check the settings
Mntsnow
I have manually deleted all cgi-bin and sysopt cookies and I still get the same problem. I think my browser is set right as other bbs's seem to work fine. This is driving me nuts. Any other suggestions? I hate to delete all my cookies as I have a lot of stuff set up the way I like it.

It's the paranoia coming out in me - but, have you done a virus sweep lately - ?

Hi bdog, Just saw this. I'll see if I can get some help.
Ok, have you tried rebooting after manually deleting everything per your last post?
Try looking here and see if anything fits..

I really didn't mean it about the new bb. Sysopt rules!! I just didn't know what to say when Mntsnow didn't have the answer. i think that was a first http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I will try to reboot after deleting the cookies. Ever since I installed W2k, I have forgot how to reboot though. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I gave up on netscape around version 4.5. I think they should call it netcrash. It isn't installed on my computer or I would try it. Wife's PC is sharing my internet connection and she is doing something onine right now, but when she gets done I will reboot and let you know.

Ahhhh HUH...Didnt mention you were on Win2K http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Yes of course reboot and see what happens http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif Since getting my hardware all arranged and updated and then ripping out the internal modem since I went to DSL service my Win2K has yet to be brought to it's knees!
Ohh BTW that's not the first time I've been stumped on this board http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif and I'm sure it's not going to be the last as I usually pickup a few new tricks here all the time too http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I went to ragingbull.com, yahoo stocks and cnbc.com, came back to Sysopt and the problem is back again. Could it be conflicting cookies?

Ohhhh....Bdog your killing me here http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif LOL
Hmmmm...I'm going to have to "sleep" on this one http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
Mntsnow
I was able to fix it by deleting the cookies under prefrences. I didn't even have to reboot this time. Strange, very strange.

Yes win2k is SMOOOOOTH aint it? I disabled the win98 partition on my comp, only gonna use it for emergencies. Check out: my downloads went from 45k avg. to 155k+ on DSL. Now if I opened 3 download windows in win98 at the same time, I could get 150k combined. With win2k I get it the first time. And I can control who has access to what. And it runs games. I just looooooove win2k baby. Too bad lousy Diamond does not have driver updates yet. Blech!
Diamond drivers for what? I am using a diamond supra express modem and it works great with default driver. I also have a viper 770 ultra video card that is working great with the nvidia reference drivers.
