It goes up when you're online, thus anyone with cable/dsl or better should be able to host it... it's just a matter of IF you want to do it for potential security issues. PCnerd 03-08-2000, 04:39 PM I wish I could. I use a normal 56k http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I think of getting DSL or cable or ISDN as soon as I get my new PC. Missing the point 03-08-2000, 04:40 PM I got cable, and I am thinking of hosting it, but I don't know how to host one... PCnerd 03-08-2000, 04:56 PM Click on the icon with AL on it, you will see a botton with "ICQ ActiveList" written on it, right click on it and in the menue you will see "Build your own ICQ Active List" Click on it and follow the directions. hope this helps. sparki 03-09-2000, 04:03 AM PC NERD The number has been posted here many times the current one is : 66168596 MTP If you want to know why didnt you ask ? You where one of the first on the list and you have used it quite alot i have three other active lists on my comp and are list is connected more often than them. Right to clear eveything up the active list requires the use of a very stable connection and a very stable computer. Also the software for running the active list is quite new and as such it takes time to learn its in's and out's. The server has been down recently because "Aura edge" has been setting up his new system (twin celerons) on that abit board. I'm not sure whether he is having comp probs or what at the moment but he has not been online himself. Questions of security are only raised by the computer that is running as the server has a direct ink to your comp. (I think thats right correct me if i'm wrong please.) Missing the point 03-09-2000, 07:29 AM Oh, I just realized, I couldn't do it. My brother is always using ICQ, with his own number, and that would mean the I would be ofline most of the time.
