I have an Expert@play 98. and a good 17" monitor. I am confused by what settings are automatic and which aren't. For example, another person's monitor may have exerything in very small type, and my "homepage" looks different on her computer, so I know it's something I set on mine.
I play Falcon4, and it has settings options which I use, plus I hear a "click" inside my monitor when it sets up to display a game sequence.

Is there a site with a good explanation??
My monitor is a "Pixie" 17" svga 1280x1024 max

Thanks in advance...

try running in 1024 x 768
if your fonts look a bit small then right click on you screen select settings then advanced then in genral click on small fonts select other then change your font size to 125% apply close and then restart you pc
this should be alot better and homepage's ect. will fit better into your screen you can do this at your present resolution but the addage is
15" = 800 x 600
17" = 1024 x 768
19" = 1280 x 1024
these are not set in stone but most people use this a rule of thumb its just preferance
hope this has helped you

The click you hear when you play your game is the monitor adjusting its resolution, probably from 1024x768 to 640x480. It won't hurt the monitor.

Alan...

I tried 1024 x 768 and what I got was a tiny version (6" x 8") rendition of my screen up in the right hand corner of my monitor. We're talking tiny here. I did right click, settings,1024. & got a test sample. I said "yes" to it & re-booted at it stayed small and in the upper corner.

I am back to normal now. (at least me computer is...) THX2

you may need to lower the refresh in order to get that resolution.that is usually what results in a tiny screen.
