I have registered the domain name I wish to use. What I want now is somewhere to put it. Are there any places that let you have web space, obviously there are, but can you recommend some good and cheap/free ones. If not I can use space on my ISP, this would then require a redirection, how do I do this. Any links to setting up web pages would be so much appreciated. As I say I have web space but then I would have to get my registered domain name re-directed.
Thanks as always.

Why not get a fast connection and host your own server? That would be much better and more convienient in my opinion.
Use Apache on Linux, it's what 58% of the internet runs on, and it's completely free of charge.

you will have to either pay fora high speed connection and do your own web/domain hosting. or you will have to pay by the month for web/domain hosting.

In UK so being self hosted is not an option due to cost. Have found a site that will host 50 megs just if you have a banner on your site, looking for other similar. This site is 50megs.co.uk

Try this:
www.crosswinds.net (http://www.crosswinds.net)
Free service.
No space limitations or disk quotas.
No banner ads of any kind.
Fast servers.
To cover their costs, once a visitor leaves your site, a new window will be opened with their home page displayed. Not nearly as annoying as banner ads or pop-ups. Also read the agreements, as offensive or illegal sites are promptly removed (and they actually follow this policy). Also no unlinked files are allowed on your site, since they believe you to be using them for storage instead of web hosting.

Yup, http://www.crosswinds.net is the best choice, I used to have my website there. They even allow commercial web sites, but you are restricted to about 25 megs and have to have their banner, but this does not apply to personal websites.
