WHen I am playing some games, my computer will just lock up. This only happens when I switch to hardware acceleration. It has done this in RECOIL, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and a couple others. I will get about 5 seconds into the game and my computer will just freeze. I have all the latest drivers for the card. I have a 300a (not overclocked) with 32MB SDRAM, and a Western Digital 2.5GB hard drive, with a 15" gateway monitor. I tried all I know. I am using Powerstrip, but I am having problems with or without it loaded.
Also, and maybe this shows the card is going bad, when I play some of the same games, I will get lines. The best I can describe it is to say that on the edges of the objects, you can see lines that are different colors than what it is supposed to be. Most prominant in Thief: Dark Project, but I am now getting it in the other games as well. This only happens in games. All my apps and stuff run fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might be able to fix it? Is it a conflict in the software? I am running DirectX 6.0 and all the latest sound drivers.
thanks in advance for any help offered.

OH!! Just to add to this, for cooling, I have only the CPU fan, Power Supply fan, and an additional CPU fan I got jerry-rigged in the case about 6 inches from the video card blowing directly on it. AND, don't know if this makes a difference or not, but the video card is sitting in the PCI slot next to my sound card. Maybe they are too close together? I could try moving it to another slot to get some free space around it for air circulation or would this help? Also, I have the case cover ON the case. thanks again
