I have a 300a oc464. I also have a agp2 tnt 16mb 4400 STB card and a 8mb voodoo2. I would say get the TNT card over the voodoo2 you can do more with it. I can play unreal @1280-1024 with it and its fast. The voodoo2 is a great card but if I could only get one card I would get the TNT.

I would go with the Riva TNT as well. However, I would hold off on it if I were you because I have heard rumors that NVidia is supposed to be releasing a new version of the TNT chipset that uses a smaller die and will increase the current 180million Pixels/second to over 220million pixels/second. Good things come to those who wait. If anyone else has heard about this or knows a URL where I can read more about it, I would appreciate you forwarding it on to me.

Its easy to say "wait", but in reality new chipsets are being developed each day. If you wait for the next best thing you will be waiting forever. Go with one thing and later on upgrade when you can see a big difference in performace. I say go for the TNT, and get the Voodoo later on.
My study of the tests and reviews at www.tomshardware.com (http://www.tomshardware.com) and www.anandtech.com (http://www.anandtech.com) leads to the Asus v3400 TNT for several good reasons. See if you don't agree.
The only alternative right now is the (expensive) 2-card Voodoo2SLI.

Or if you want the best of both worlds, do what I am going to do. Go ahead and get the TNT. It is a good card. It should do well for the time being. Especially if you need a 2D card too. THEN, I think in April or May, the Voodoo3 will be released. (Check out the article in this months PC Accelator). It should cost the same as the current Voodoo2, BUT, it is supposed to be as fast as Voodoo2 SLI cards. Only reason I am going with the Voodoo3 later on is for the 3DFX. If I weren't such a graphics junkie, I would settle for just the TNT.

I have been very impressed with my Guillemot Maxigamer Phoenix Banshee AGP 16 meg.
No its not as fast as voodoo but for super 7 boards its faster than TnT.very cheap too.Look at it this way if the game doesn't support voodoo2 then it wont use it and your stuck using your 2d card.
Question for Quake 2 players;;
I get 20 fps at 1024 x 768 and I play online and it's Super smooth.Why does everyone want 80-90 fps?I cant see it being any smoother.MAybe Im doing the demo wrong hehe
AMD K6-2 300 o/c 380
64 PC 100
FIC 503+
Banshee 16 meg AGP
I have read posts with people that get the 80-90 fps.Why if they get that high of a fps do they always turn off the high sound and the vsync?Dont they wont it to look better?
BTW my 20 fps is with 8 bit off high sound on and vsync Not disabled
Thanks
