I have a DFI ak-74ec mobo with a AMD 1000MHz (10 X 100) I was wonderin how I can change the multiplier because I am havin serious probs with increasing the clock speed itself... Keep gettin BSOD's @ 105 X 10.. And if i bring the clock speed back down to default I have no probs... System is as stable as windows gets @ 100 x 10 but is totally unstable @ 105X 10.. I know it not the proc or mobo gettin too hot cause I get no warning from the mobo about it.. THe alarms do werk.. I have tested that already..

BTW I have not had a computer for years that I coud over clock and get away with it.. Kinda rusty.

Actually the culprit is most likely either your RAM or a PCI device unhappy running out-of-spec.
Here (http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1345&p=3) this will tell you how to unlock and adjust the multiplier.

If you do not have an conductive pen, you can go to any auto supply store and get a little bottle of rear window defroster repair liquid. They use it to connect the damaged wires that have cracked. Works great just shake well and apply with a tooth pick.
