I read somewhere that 400W is now recommended by AMD for 1.3GHz and higher. Now if this is true and Palomino has less power consumption then would 300W still be enough for the Palomino line? Let's say it's not. Is it hard to replace just the power supply or do I need a new case. Just curious for the future. I have a 1.2GHz now on a 300W power supply with Enlight 7237.

Well, I can't speak for the size of the power supply compared to the processor you're using, but physically, all ATX power supplys are the same size. Four screws hold it onto the back of the case. The one other thing you get with a larger power supply is more drive connectors. The 250W in my old case had about 6 drive connectors, the 300W in my new case has about 9 or 10. I bought a new case because I was adding more drives and accessories that mount in the 5.25 bays, otherwise I would have just replaced the PS.

the 400w is recommended but you most likely could get by with a 300w but nothing is guarenteed. To be on the safe side you might seriously think about getting a new one.

You shouldn't need a new case just a new atx power supply that is amd approved. An enlight ps might be a good choice as they are great power supplies that are reasonably priced.
