"Sherson Lehman's Daniel Niles said he expects Intel to ``detonate a price bomb'' on Aug. 26, slashing prices 50 percent on some of its fastest chips to recover lost market share from rival Advanced Micro."

This news is dragging the whole market down today....

i dont think they will. if so people have already bought the socket A mobos and CPUs because they were cheaper.

Yep, that's exactly what I heard. 50% less for high-end P4s (1.8 GHz), and P4 1.9 GHz will begin shipping at 300$ !!!
