Hi there.

I have a k6-2 and I want to measure it's temp. My mobo doesn't have any probe on it and I was thinking to try an external one. I can't get it to touch the processor, and I was thinking:
How much accurate will the temp reading be if I use the probe on the HS, right above the core of the CPU?
Is the real temp lower or higher?
About how much %?

Thanks

I ran a K6-2 400 like this for a while. I got an indoor/outdoor temp sensor from radio shack and placed it int he fins of the HS. I checked the temps at the default temp and then OCed it and ran it at 100% and looked at the temp change. I touched the HS to see if it was hot to the touch. It wasn't, so I set that as the max +/-5 degrees.

Good luck
Dave

Thanks

This is exactly what I had in mind.
Just want to monitor my CPU as much accurate as I can (at a reasonable price).
I have seen a cool case which had LCD display on the front....
