user names

I was doing some bookmark sorting and so I was surfing different sites. and I can across my user name listed at a bbs and when I tried to register at that site. it told me that my e-mail address"I'v had for over 5 years" was already registered. I e-mailed the site and am waiting for a replie. is there anything I can do about this. I have worked very hard to build a outstanding rep as a bbs user and as a trader. and I don't want someone else bleeding off of my reps at heat or all the bbs's I belong to. and the site I went to. there users there knows the sites or bbs I belong to very well. all assistance on this matter is most welcome.

Hi Gene C, I feel going to the BBS Admins is the best way to go - email all the Admins and Moderators in case one of them isn't around, the other should be.

They should be able to verify who you are and take care of the matter from the inside, and deal with the other guy/gal appropriately, whether it was intentional or some kind of fluke.

I would be concerned though if the Admins didn't act on it quickly.

thanks, for the advice. I just sent a e-mail to the fourm. I haven't sent one to the top dogs yet. The person has one of those free e-mail address. but, I still can register with my e-mail. it says already taken. and I haven't heard from the site yet. since, I'm self-employed and have nothing else to do. I'm going to try and do a self post at heat to let everyone knoe the real me. and than just make it a full time job. joining every site I can find. and than noone can use my name and maybe I can explain myself before they ban me on the site if I do a post explianing my problem. I refuse and will not give up on this. I got all the free hours it take me to join everysite I come to. I'm just really concered about my post at heat and my good name on the web. hope you all understand what I'm saying here and this is not a BIT** or a crybaby post. it just has me real upset and I would like to try with the help from anyone. BEFORE I contact the person that has my username. and as far as the bbs where it is at. alot of sites members includeing this one. has had problems with that site.

update: I was able to do a selfpost at heat. I'll see if it takes it. and I have e-mail the webmaster and owner. so we'll see

best of luck getting it sorted out, though I fear it will be a long haul, had sim problem with excite, been at them for over 6 months now, still no joy, in fact I hardly ever sell or buy there any more, I still don't know how they were able to change my e-mail without me knowing and then block me out, with out checking back at my orignal e-mail for confirmation.

I contacted and got an e-mail from the site master. and he said he didn't see the problem. and I replied to him and said that was ok. they would just have two Gene C. and I would sign as I usually do. Gene C.and so it wouldn't let me register as gene c. and so I did one as cegene c. and have already answered to one of the other gene c post and used my name. so now I'll just wait and see if they ban me or not. on the out come of it. like I told the bbs master. I was really only worried about someone tradeing with him and getting burned and me get the blame and I have done a self post at heat. "hope it will take it"
