I'm working on a comp that, at one time had Simms & Dimms running together. He removed the dimms & has only Simms in it now but the board is set to 3.3 volts(memory). Does the simms run at the 5 volt option the board has. I want to be completely sure before I change it.The comp is unstable & is getting blue screens a little to often.
Thanks Toro

it's a pretty safe bet that you should be running those SIMMS at 5v.

SIMM's should run 5v and DIMMs at 3.3v
This problem occurs on boards that have SIMM's and DIMM's where if both are in, it supplys 5v to all RAM, and potentially fries the DIMM's. If you have all one type, then you wont be in danger of frying anything

Looks like I'll go with 5 volts then. Thanks for the help. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
