I've just installed my new pc yesterday. It ran at 47C idle and 51C full load.

Athlon T-Bird 1.2@266FSB
MSI k7t turbo-R v3.0
win 2k pro

After looking around on the internet i found that changing register 52 from 6B to EB with wpcredit program could give a better idle temp. My idle temp dropped to 31C... yehaa...

my question: is this a safe procedure? are there any problems that could arise from this change?

according to This article (http://www.athlonoc.com/tweakvia1.php) changing register 52 is not considered a problem, and actually serves to lower your idle temps by 10 degrees with no known stability issues.

Anyone with further clarification, your assistance would be appreciated
