I'm looking at buying a CD ReWriteable drive, has anyone heard, or used the HP CD Writer Plus 7500 External? I think it is probably a good drive but I'm just checking it out before I go for the gold. I'm gonna use the drive mainly for making music CD's from MP3's and transferring (and selling--shhhh!) games/applications. Any comments would be greatly appreciated
Give some thought to a 4X writer - "time is money". Do you really have to go external? You pay a lot for the extra power supply. The HP8100i costs less than the 7500e.
You might also consider Yamaha because of the 2Mb buffer v. HP's 1Mb. Any lapse in data delivery will cause the writer to shut down. The buffer protects this.

jfdid,
With out be littleing Cobain.(External drives DONT SUCK)..I would suggest either a IDE or Scuzzy drive over a parallel drive. But I have to admit that some of the external drives work very well. and one of the nice benifts is that you can move it to another computer much easier and faster. (just depends on what you want to do with it) Hope this helps http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
