Alright! Up to this point I've thought that maybe we here in the US have been going overboard with prosacuting the tobacco companies for people's ill effects of their choice to smoke.
I smoked for about 10 years, but quit (cold turkey) a little over two year ago.
Today in the mail I get this cool looking box, about the size of a video game box. Not knowing what it is, I eagerly open it and find two pack of cigarettes. The exact brand and flavor I used to smoke. With a coupon for six more free packs! Those bastards! No wonder people have a hard time quiting smoking.
And no I didn't give in and have a smoke. hehe. Even if I had any desire for a cigarette I wouldn't smoke the ones they sent me out of sheer spite. I do have some principles ya know.
Wow, lots of will power, congrats Outpatient!

Good for you, OutPatient, for not going back, and for quitting in the first place. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Sinister tactics, indeed.
Also, how did they know exactly what brand and flavor? Perhaps the tobacco companies shell out big bucks for a "marketing agreement" with the store and/or bank with the card that was swiped to get that info..

Obviously, Echelon is involved in the plot to send you free smokes to keep you hooked! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Why didn't I get free smokes when I quit? Now I'm mad

Maybe Echelon knew you would go back to smoking narayan. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
I am not suprised. I figured they would do it a bit closer to the time of quitting though so you'd be more inclined but...

I love to smoke. I just knew I had to quit. I will begin again when I am 50 or so years old, that way there will not be enough time for me to get lung cancer before I die! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif LONG LIVE CIGARETTES

Want to talk about Evil "okay lets chat".
Point: Evil is taxation without representation, When have you ever heard a member of Congress say "Well its ultimately a persons choice to smoke or not to smoke so why should we tax ciggarettes.
Point: "200 + years ago it would be Camels and marlboros floating in boston Harbor instead of tea. Mind you for the exact same reasons that founded this country in first darn place..
And finally, lets be real. does anyone here Know anyone who recieved a dime out of this lawsuit "Of the big tobacco companys" Except for Screwmy, Hard, and Sum. the team of lawyers Who have made literally millions "If not billions" of dollars with absolutely no provision to care for the people they were supposedly representing???
I in no means support the means that Tobacco companys use to encourage smoking.
But you have to admit they learned from the best. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
