While they were cheap, I got 2 AMD K6-3+ cpu's and 2 SOYO sy-5ssM5 mobos.

The mobo's are rated up to 133mhz FSB, even though we Know the K6 processors can't twist up that tight, but 124 is "possible"

Anyhow, while reading someone else's woes getting a K6+ CPU to run, I got worried and went to SOYO..

egads, there is NO mention of support for the "Plus" series or even the K6-3

Am I doomed to get yet more mobo's ?

Found some information on that board here: http://bbs.pcstats.com/amdzone/arcmessageview.cfm?catid=13&threadid=28715&highlight_key=y&keyword1=SOYO

You could also search the www.amdzone.com/forum (http://www.amdzone.com/forum) in their K6-x forum for more information. There are some utilities developed by some members there which can let you make the most of the + cpus.

PS: by the way 133FSB is not a limitation of the cpu, but rather the SS7 motherboards.

Those K6er's at the AMDZone have everthing you need to get that thing running.

It's probably in need of a bios upgrade, but there are progs that will up your multiplier, the + series has Power Now.

Good luck Doc, and good clockin.

Man, I hate that.

I just knew these would be a real go-getter with the fast FSB's..

Dang it all.
