Then use thermal paste, I prefer silver, or at least aluminum, but even that white stuff is better than one of those pads. Bsdboy 06-10-2001, 07:37 PM I agree use the paste. Bsdboy Brydon 06-10-2001, 07:54 PM Nice pad remover is nail varnish remover as it takes the phase change compound off nicely http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. LiLRiceBoi 06-10-2001, 11:03 PM go w/ the paste fvay 06-11-2001, 07:20 AM I wish somebody had left off of arctic silver. they are too expensive to buy $8 + shipping on a tube skuz 06-11-2001, 10:28 AM I too had this dilemma. Tried leaving the pad on, and CPU never goes above 35 C so I leave it there. fishpro619 06-11-2001, 12:09 PM Screw the orb! Go with the ocz galdiator. Better all around cooling, had the orb and it sucked! go to http://www.tomshardware.com/ for the complete low down on all the major cpu fans! fishpro619 06-11-2001, 12:27 PM Sorry here's the link http://www.athlonoc.com/hsfroundup1.php Orbs have very poor heat displacement!
