Hi all. I have a ASUS P3BF and overclock it at 133 with 256 micron 256 cass2 ram. It runs excellent. But last night I bump the fsb to 140 and it handles really nice, but there is a problem because sometimes during post, my memory count stops at 64 meg, especially when I first turn it on. If I reboot then it will count the correct amount which is 256. I tried to play with the bios right now. Anyone has the same configuration or has tips on bios setting or whatever that solve this problem?

Your RAM is destabilizing due to its inability to handle the higher FSB. I'm betting this is what's happening.

Well, it runs smoothly after boot, no problem. The gamming is excellent for this whole rig. I just don't know why sometimes the memory count is incorrect.

I am with Dputiger on this as it is very likely that your ram is flaky at 133+. Try upping the VIO to stabilise the ram to maybe 3.5v or 3.6v http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

Where in the bios for this motherboard do you increase the voltage. It makes sense though. I have to bump the voltage for the chip, but where for the ram?

Oh...got my manual and found the jumper. Hope it works. Will get back http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I have the same problem. Mine only shows up half heartedly when I push it. You just have to weigh your options, and decide which best suits your needs. Half the RAM at a faster fsb or twice the RAM when you back it down.

Haha....I think I did what I should have done already. Should have though of the ram http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks your for reminding me. OH...if you have the same problem, I sugest looking over your manual and try to bump the voltage to the ram. Good luck. Here is my spec:

I had already been there and boosted the VIO 10%. It helped a heap but not enough, to get me where I want to go.

Try dropping to CAS3 instead of CAS2.

This should free up quite a lot of stable MHz, without taking much of a performance hit http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
