are my eyese deceiving me!? I just got a new 1.2GHz T-Bird from Essential Computers. The 266FSB was like .25 cheaper then the 200FSB so I got teh 266. When I opened it to look at it it looks like the L1 bridges are already connected. It is an AXIA too! I couldn't find a magnifying glass to make sure but it sure looks like they are conencted to me. Is this so?

Yes.
All AMD chips 1.2 Ghz and above are unlocked.

Ummmmm.. I beg to differ...all AMD chips from 1.2 and above are not all unlocked. I have recently read where several on different forums are getting the 1.2 gig and 1.33 gig locked.
The bridges are really hard to see, and to be completely certain, hopefully you can find a glass and a good light, because if the light shines just right on a cut bridge, it will appear to be complete.

If the 1.2's and 1.33's are locked, its because AMD has changed their policy. That's not suprising.
AMD was NOT cutting the chips because the process used to cut the bridges lowers yield. AMD may have begun cutting the bridges again now that yields have reached desired levels.

Actually, from what I've heard, if you get a 1.2 or 1.33 or 1.4 that has the L1's cut, you probably have a remarked CPU. Remarks are once again big.

To determine if the cpu is locked, change the multiplier in Bios (say from 10 x 1200 to 11 x 1200). If the cpu shows 11 x 1200 or 13200 at post, then it's not locked. Correct me if I'm wrong. But be gentle...
