Hi,

I just bought a new Canon 5100BJC printer, and I've already got a problem. Thing is, I have a Parallel port Scanner, and when I plug the printer into the scanner, it doesn't work.

Was wondering if any could tell me what the best second option would be.

Get a second LPT port? An adapter from Parallel to USB? Switchbox??

Thanx in advance.

Well, it depends on your system. If you have an extra IRQ and slot, you could get the extra Parallel port ($30 for the PnP). That takes up alot of resources though. I would suggest the USB option. It is the least expersive and will give you a little (yes, little) extra speed in printing.

Hello,

If you give us a little bit more details you might not need to spend any money at all.
