Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : I just joined the 1 gig club with a Celeron 667mhz cpu
ok guys tell me if this is right, i got a celly 667 @ 1000E.
1) What in the HELL is the E for, and am i safe to run it @ 2.2volts, or should i run the voltage lower ?
2) How much further can i push this thing ?
my specs are as follows
Advance 5/133E worldclass mainboard
Western Digital 10.262 gig hdd
floppy drive (Sony)
128MB pc100 memory stick
LG 32X cd-rom Drive
Teac 4x4x32 CDR/RW
Creative 52x CD-ROM Drive
Sound Blaster 1024 Live sound card
Realteck ethernet adapter
intel chipped 56k v90 modem
ATI Rage IIC AGP graphics card
VooDoo II PCI accelerator card
total of 36 cooling fans(home designed side and header panels)
HOME DESIGNED UN PENETRABLE SECURITY SYSTEM
Windows 2000 and Windows Millenium Edition
LET ME KNOW A.S.A.P, i dont wanna run this pc again till i know it is safe to do so !

36 COOLING FAN!!!! WAT the mothaf*** holy** sh** #$%@........ I've neva heard of so many!!
I thought the E stands for it's version, But since your celly is an overclocked chip, the E might not matter to you at all.
You might be able to push it a lil more but why? You're already in the 1gig club. And that's alot of push on your pc100 but since you made it this far with it then there's no need for pc133. Is it stable? Too many fans won't be any good if the vcore is upped over 1.75, many celly o/cers have told me to go with watercooling instead.
you know about the temps rite? Between 35 and 45 should be good.
I forgot what the program is called, but it uses you cpu at 100% and if you run this for a cuple of hrs without crushing then you're golden! You can still use something like 3dmark2001 (I think)
Hopefully some else can give you better advices.

Gilt you have 30 too many fans at least, you think more fans will make the case cooler than room temp?
And btw, I wont believe this until (if then) I see some evidence.......thats a major o/c, although it has been done before, 1000 is an amazingly round number, and you did not say it runs........hey do you know how to change the voltage and check temps btw?
OK GUYS you ready for this ?!!!
My pc is situated in my bedroom on a marly tiled floor that remains at no more than 2-3 degrees Centigrade(sometimes dead on 1 degree).
EVEN IN THE SUMMER AS IT IS SOLID CONCRETE UNDERNEATH THE TILES !!
The high amount of fans ? well, simple, it keeps the airflow at an exceptable level for my standards, and also it keeps the case at a good temperature !!
NOW !! about the V-CORE, my PGA 370 adapter card allows me to alter the v-core either higher or lower, so its easy to alter it if necessary.
I ran the celly at stock voltage, and i can still get 1000MHz, through altering a jumper on my mobo, incedentally, while im on the subject, my board can do the following FSB's
66MHz (99 if i use clock +33MHZ)
100MHz (133 if i use clock +33MHZ)
133MHZ (155 if i use clock +33MHZ)
Now onto water calling, to me (and this seems fairly obvious i might add !) it is just another way of tempting fate.
AND, for those who dont believe i can get 1000MHz e-mail me and i'll send you the proof within wcpuid !!
BTW, my CPU V-CORE is now at 1.8 volts, and it still runs at GIG !!!
I Ran the thing for FOUR or FIVE hours with a CPU intensive 3d game, and she is a solid as a ROCK !!! (Wednesday 16 may)
OH, and ONE more thing b4 i disappear, my case temp was betweeen 9 degrees C and 11 degrees C after running at a gig with intensive cpu software for four to five hours (this morning, between 1am and 6am)
Sound about right to you, or are you jealous cos it runs at such a low temperature ?

Voltages are kind of tricky. A CPU may run fine at 1.8V and crash at 2V. Then you can step it up to 2.2V and it runs fine. Just fool around with it.
Now about the fans.... What the heck kind of power supply(s) are you running with? Do you need earplugs to work on the machine? I have 2 case fans (80mm), a Vantec Socket 462 HS and Arctic Silver. My CPU is a TBird 1000Hz @ 1200Hz and at load my temps never get above 37°C. Only two fans work great.

Jeez where do you live that your soil temp is 1 degree above freezing? And how do you heat a place like that? And what do you wear when it is 10 degrees in your room? (That is 50 degrees F for us Americans).
You still have not mentioned cpu temp, that is why I asked if you know how to check it...it is sort of important.
So which fsb is getting you 1000? None of those you listed would. 155 is actually not an option btw, 133+33 is 166, which would give you 1107. 133x667 is 887. Am I wrong to wonder where you get 1000 from?
Lol....30 fans........
And Gilty, the chance of me being jealous of you about ANYTHING are nil.

Ever thought about a Peltier to eliminate a few of those fans? Don't take this wrong, as I used to run nearly 20 fans to cool my K6-2 back in the Socket7 days, but isn't 30+ fans in this age of advanced cooling technology a little overkill?!!!!
Any rate, congrats on the overclock. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
The record here at SysOpt for the Celery-II I believe is upwards of 1200 MHz. Check out the search option for more info....

I believe richamies got his 566 Celery II at 1200mhz. It's 100% stable at 1133mhz. He uses a cheap motherboard of an unknown brand and a Golden Orb. Overclocking is easy, all you need is a good chip. You can have 30 fans or liquid nitrogen cooling, but if the chip doesn't overclock, it doesn't overclock. You're just lucky you got a good chip.
And you aren't even THAT lucky, you know.
But congrats anyway... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Barney's right, it's the luck of the draw.
I run my Celeron 700 at 1134MHz with no case fans at all. Just a heavy duty collermaster cpu fan.

The main thing is that you seem to be having a lot of fun.
Thats Right. That E says it´s Manufactured in hEll just like all 666mhz CPU´s but you are
able to change it into Good if you manage
to get it to 1666.......... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
OK OK, gimme a chance, according to my bios, my system temp is usually between 9 and 12 degrees C.
BUT, i had my central heating on full pelt, (about 39-40 degrees C, and my system temp shot upto 19- 20 degrees C, as for CPU temp, how in the HELL do you check that, short of making a special probe type temperature gauge ?
Other thing i need to know is if i changed to PC133, OR PC150 memory would i get above 1 Gig and can u do a pencil trick on a Celly ?
Talking about the luck of the draw, i purchased my CPU on the same day as i did the one for my fiance, both 667MHz Celerons, mine hits a Gig, Hers WILL NOT, AND REFUSES FLAT OUT to go above 833MHz,
Well actually, to tell the truth, i pushed them both as hard as i could to see which was the faster chip, cos she dont wanna overclock her system !!, i havent told her i sped it up to 833 yet, she'll go bonkers when i do
This way i get a faster system, even tho hers is identical to mine, i tend to like to do wierd things to my cases, I.E, my old system, (before i upgraded mobo's) often refused to start, i swift well located blow with a CRICKET bat, and she would start, pitty i wrote off my case tho, i spent a heap o cash getting it just perfect and the thing ran so sweet too. mmmmm, wish i'd never trashed it now, still, we all learn from our mistakes, OR DO WE ?

CPU temp may be shown in the bios, or your motherboard may have a hardware monitor. Check the software that came with the mobo or go to the mobo site and see if you can find one.

Gilt: when you say about 'E' - I presume your BIOS reports something like "Intel PentiumIII 1000E MHz"
Ignore the 'E' - it's just a glitch in the corect reporting of the CPU, as you are running at the 'wrong' FSB for that chip.
2.2V is a LOT for that chip. If it runs fine at less, DO NOT give it more: you will only shorten the life of it!!! Only use what you need http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Good OC, BTW http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
OK Krusty, my cpu, willonly run at 2.1 MINIMUM, if i wanna run it at a gig, at the moment however, since i have been getting blue error screens at 1 gig, i am flicking between 1002MHz and 833MHz, so, due to this i be getting pc133 memory soon, to try a better O/c
