Trying out the latest bios flashing to see if I could get the last drop of speed out of my duron 700, turned up duron from 1050mz to now 1083mz- testing it to see if it can run stable. Would hit 1083mz at 1.825 but ended up leaving at 1.85. Temp is about the same as 1050mz. This new ZT bios for kt7 r,kt7a was running a little cooler than other bios, so far over the YP ,bios I was running, it's seem's to be running a little cooler. Cooler running just might push me up to run stable at 1083mz. This is a lot for a 700 duron. A small increase in speed- a little less than 3%. But this is free speed, even though small-you notice it. Higher you go- the harder it is. I flashed my abit kt7 r about five time. Setting's to get the last bit of speed are very touchy. Flashing bios may allow you to get a little better set of timing's to allow you to run a little faster. It's fun to flash ,but allways a little risky, but the abit board make's the flashing easy. Some board;s are much harder and do not upgrade their bios as often-not a advantage.Go here to try ZT- www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7faq.htm (http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7faq.htm)
